We made the annual geek pilgrimage to the NEC Arena in Birmingham last Friday to attend the sacred Gadget Show Live. Knowing our BE community are a social bunch we decided to bring some of you guys along. We gave away 13 pairs of tickets to our lucky FreeBE Friday winners and asked them to tweet their favourite things using the #BEgadget hashtag.
Armed with our team of BE fans, a bunch of smartphones and the good old hashtag we managed to create on-going commentary for the event. But for those of you who may not have been too productive at work stuck to a Twitter feed, here are the best bits that came out of it.
Holograms
Good work from @trilby who spotted a funky hologram, although on closer inspection it did turn out to be a fake – let’s hope the tech comes soon.
The sharp eyed viewers will also notice the amazing technology that allows people to walk up the wall in the video –we are flabbergasted.
Vintage tech
It looks like someone decided that the best thing the Gadget Show needed was some very old fashioned tech – although would have be cool to see the time machine they used to find the relics.

3D gaming everywhere
Wherever you turned, someone was getting their game on wearing big black 3D glasses. Whether it was 3D PlayStation move, Xbox shooters or PC overclockers – the manufacturers are betting big on 3D gaming hitting the mainstream very soon.

In fact, the biggest queue we saw all day was for Nintendo’s little 3DS handheld, proving it’s a trend that appeals to both ends of the gadget spectrum.

The Dark Knight
Probably one of the geekiest stores on the web, Firebox.com, turned up with a full on Batmobile – holy smokes!

Gadgets or beer?
Difficult question, but @fitor knows..

Film Trailer
Not content with the usual tweetage and twitpicing, @domster decided to create this awesome video - and the backing track just adds to its genius.
