Results of survey into Digital Economy Act

In April, the Digital Economy Act continued it’s lumbering progress towards reality when the High Court threw out an appeal against the Act. If you’ve been keeping track of the #DEAct so far you’ll know that lots of people disliked the speed that it was pushed through parliament and also the Act’s provisions to tackle filesharing, which some say are open to abuse.

We wanted to know what our members thought so we launched a brief survey to find people’s opinions about the act. Below are the main results based on the 354 responses we got.

Thanks to everyone who responded, it helps us to understand your attitudes towards these important issues and what you expect from your broadband.

I would like to point out that it is my belief that the majority if BE customers are actually IT Pro's or have a larger IT Knowledge / background and the pie chart representing who is aware of the DEA may be misleading to the people in the press however they may decide to run with this post if at all

This "47% - i will continue to use filesharing software but will take steps to conceal my identity (eg ip address cloaking)" just made me laugh!!!

The author has written an excellent article. You have made your point and there is not much to argue about. It is like the following universal truth that you can not argue with: No truth is universal, everything has its exception. Thanks for the info
